….. Urges Compassion, Unity During Sacred Season

Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi–Aliyu popularly known as BASA, a leading governorship aspirant in Oyo State under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has sent warm greetings to Muslim and Christian faithful as they commence the 2026 Ramadan fast and Lenten season respectively.
In a statement issued from her media office on Tuesday, the prominent Oyo State politician and a humanitarian described the simultaneous occurrence of both sacred periods as a divine alignment, calling on residents to leverage the moment for fervent prayers and national healing.

Hon BASA widely regarded for her grassroots mobilization and advocacy for inclusive governance, noted that the values of sacrifice, discipline, and charity which characterize Ramadan and Lent are virtues that every citizen should imbibe for the collective good of society.

“This is more than a season of abstinence; it is a season of soul-searching and renewed commitment to one another. As our Muslim brothers and sisters observe Ramadan and our Christian brethren engage in Lent, we are reminded that our diversity as a people is not a weakness but a strength that should unite us in love and service,” she stated.

Hon. BASA also enjoined the faithful to extend kindness to the vulnerable and underprivileged around them, stressing that true worship is reflected in how we treat the least among us.
She concluded with a prayer for divine acceptance of all acts of devotion and for a peaceful and prosperous season, wishing all observers a rewarding spiritual journey.
