Egalitarian Voice Media reports that The Chairman, Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, SAN, has assured Oyo State residents that members of Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Amotekun (Oyo State chapter) will not be engaged for election activities. He maintain that OYSIEC will collaborate with the police and some other security agencies to have a successful election on 27th of April, 2024.
Aare Olagunju stated this on Thursday during a meeting with members of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Oyo State at the Headquarters of the Commission, Agodi, Ibadan. He sought continued cooperation and understanding of members of the political parties participating in a bid to have a free, fair, transparent and acceptable elections.

The OYSIEC Chairman reiterated that permanent voter’s card will be the only document to be used for voting on the day of election as agreed at previous engagements with the political parties.

In his remarks, the IPAC Chairman, Oyo State, Otunba Adegbenro expressed the readiness of IPAC members to observe distribution of election materials across the state while urged members of the participating political parties to abide by the rules and regulations.
