Oyo State Government has reiterated that the state is making frantic efforts at recording 100 percent literacy rate in line with the year 2030 Sustainable Development Goal Education for All Policy.
The State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof. Soliu Adelabu, stated this at the opening of a three-day Implementation Support Mission for the Better Education Service Delivery for All Additional Financing- Transforming Education System (BESDA AF- TEES) program in collaboration with the World Bank and Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
Prof. Adelabu while addressing the Education Stakeholders from Oyo, Adamawa and Katsina States as well as representatives of the World Bank, noted that the program, was designed to accommodate all children of school age despite their socio-economic background.
The Adamawa State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Umar Pella and the Katsina state Commissioner for Education represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Aishat Umar said the government is committed to providing maximum support to ensure successful implementation of the project.
The State Coordinators of Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Dr. Tunde Odekunle and the National Project Coordinator, Dr. Folake David said the project would help to improve the quality and access to education in the captured states.
