The 2023 NNPP gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, has announced his future ambitions and thrown his weight behind Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) for the 2027 election.
In a statement, POJ expressed gratitude to his supporters and outlined his vision for the future. “I remain committed to serving our great nation and advancing its progress,” he said.
Popoola Olukayode Joshua (POJ) is one of the Mogajis in Ibadan land, the Mogaji of Ile Ewena, one of the popular ancestral family lineage in Ibadanland where he hails from.
The “Soludero” as is being addressed, has impacted positively the world around him, such that he was considered appropriate for the governorship ticket of new Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in 2023 election.
The period of interviews at various media platforms vividly exposed him as a very brilliant fellow , who knows his onions and why he was vying for the governorship seat
Olukayode Joshua is a graduate from one of the nation’s most prestigious Universities; he graduated as an Engineer from the University of Lagos , after which he proceeded for his mandatory National Youth Service year (NYSC) .
He gained employment into the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing after the meritorious service year and rose within ranks and file at the federal government employment ,till he bacame an Executive Director, Planning and Engineering Services.
In 2009, during the short but impactful reign of the former President Sheu Musa Yaradua, he was deployed to Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), where he gave a good account as a professional and qualified engineer.
HE combined the dexterity of a qualified engineer with the attested integrity in recording astounding achievements in the saddled assignment , It was during his period that FERMA established its offices at Alaga and Ago-Amodu area of Oyo State .
The same period , when the the road from Ibadan to Oyo received excellent touch from the Federal government.
He was also part of the professional team that executed Ibadan to Lagos Multiple Lanes Express Road Re-construction for period of time as the Executive Director at FERMA.
He returned to the Federal Ministry of Works and later served as Controller at Ogun and Lagos , when he finally resigned his appointment with the federal government of Nigeria .
His love for people was the thrust that pushed him into the political field , It was severally attested that POJ demonstrates quantum love for people around him and is always eager to promote what will be to the good of everyone .

That inherent altruistic virtue was demonstrated with his avowed support for the gubernatorial bid of Engineer Dotun Sanusi , whom he openly declared the unalloyed support for .
Engineer Popoola Olukayode Joshua in that open confirmation of his deep support, donated a handsome sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500, 000:00) to the Aritisans body , who were at the Ilaji Hotesls and Sports Resorts for Seminar and they availed the opportunity to declare their support for Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) project.
Many see this altruistic move from POJ as one of the needed virtues in our political practices , similar to what is obtainable in advance countries of the world , where people gather their intellectual and material resources behind a particular choice for the common good and progress of their state .
Engineer Popoola Olukayode Joshua has demonstrated that quality of being a true democrat , a patriot to the core and a man with clear vision of that transformation desired for the pacesetter state, no doubt as the governorship candidate in the year 2023 general election for a party, NNPP, he will pull together his support base and join forces with JDS 2027 project for the collective vision aimed at transforming Oyo State.
He is certainly a patriot of season and times , who deserves accolades for being truthful and discretionary in political equation.
